If you want to fight back against MRAs, you need to be attacking the root cause, which is the militant feminists who aren't trying to do anything for women, but rather doing all they can to make themselves look better by crushing men down. Everyone involved needs to quit what they're doing because it clearly isn't working. Police your own damn groups for a while and see what happens. I'm saying this as a woman too embarrassed to call herself a feminist because it's gotten such a shitty reputation in recent years.

Be a decent person. Care for & be compassionate for human beings as human beings. Everything else comes second to that. But to me, the value of feminism is that it is a constant reminder of a way in which society is unfair and harsh which I think we have a tendency to ignore. In other words, the value of feminism is that it is a useful lens on how to be a decent person.

I also don't think you can entirely blame militant feminists for the existence of MRAs. I don't think you can entirely blame anyone for it, really, but I also think that the MRAs themselves have some responsibility.

They don't realise that all this "disrupt the talk" shit is going to make the MRA's look like martyrs and themselves as basketcases. Hadn't they learn't the only thing strawmen comics actually teach you?

Yeah this. Trying to silence everything a group says doesn't tell people "they're bad and awful and need to be stopped". It tells them that you're afraid of what they could say.

By that logic shouldn't we not be going after the militant feminists and instead attacking their root cause, which is sexism against women and a lot of old, sexist men in power in government?

But they have a root cause too, which is our messed up governmental system. So let's ignore all the people and change the system instead?

What I was suggesting: OP's mindset of "MRA only exist because of radfems and if you got rid of all radfems everything would be peaches and those men would stop hating women" is wrong.

Conversely, if you got rid of the patriarchy, do you think those radfems would magically stop hating men? It doesn't work like that.

You don't have to stop dealing with one problem in order to deal with another as well. I've been vocally opposed to Teresa Jusino's racism and misandry on The Mary Sue, but I've also been positive towards other posters on the same site who take on misogyny.
