Where did the tags go? D:

to a fiery death

they really want to fucking kill the tags. kill kill kill them.

I just dont get it. search is useless for anything but the first browse, it doesnt show new content at all. Now you cant even see if someone tagged you.

It's not like people tag their shit on that godforsaken site anyway. If this makes people leave Tumblr in whinging droves, I don't see a downside.

Uh. I know plenty of people who tag their shit.

And at least they're not on a dying site with no new blood.

c'mon now, we had a self-professed teenager post recently

a teenager

no new blood, my ass

I'll happily take a "dying" site with no new blood over a "thriving" site where everyone's fucking obnoxious.

If you get the new xkit, there's an extension that lets you put tracked tags back on your dash.

Your tracked tags are still there but they've been moved to the search URL. At least it seems to remember if you switch the search to most recent.

The useful new post number count is gone on your tracked tags tho :c

I'm vaguely under the impression that tumblr is trying to either get rid of their current userbase so they can use the site for something else, or they're trying to force everyone to use the mobile app exclusively since the browser version will eventually suck just as much, but at least the mobile will be less laggy since the code isn't full of back-and-forth artifacts from Tumblr trying to break their own site in order to prevent xKit from working.

Idk why they'd want everyone to use mobile, probably because either they can then make it so that you have to pay to use the app, or just because xKit doesn't work on mobile, and they really don't want people to use it for whatever reason.

Either way, the sooner that site goes down in a giant fireball, the better.
