Considering Bones was happily child-free and determined to stay that way until they decided she needed to be Super-Mom, it's a very off-putting character trait.

And 'our relationship is mostly about procreation' isn't a parent talking about their kids, it's a rather icky statement about their marriage and relationship.

Yesh, even when my friends don't have time for much else they're able to talk about other topics. Because they're well-aware just because they have kids doesn't mean their lives, much less that of everyone else's, has to revolve around them. Prioritize? Sure! But they certainly don't introduce themselves by talking about their kids, spend most conversations talking about them, or repeat the same thing thrice to make sure you've told everyone at a birthday party about the special thing they did.

And that's before getting into the ones employing this because they're in denial about how, say, most parents won't promise not to let their new dog be prioritized over their child before leaving most of the work to the other parent because it's more fun to go train their dog all the time! Sorry cousin, but no amount of talking about your little girl will hide this... especially not to other parents. :(
