Re: Most impressive character development

Roadside Picnic, the main character Redrick progresses from a character with a persecution complex who believes the universe is somehow targeting him to the realization that in reality his own selfish actions have lead him to where he is and he has no idea how to be a good person.

It's an exceptionally honest, somewhat brutal portrayal of a human mind in crisis, I think.
