I heard about this recently; however, this law only exists in Quebec. I'm not sure of the reasoning, but probably the best fix for them is simply to drop the price. There are those who will be squeamish about any deaths in a house, but there are plenty who will get over if it the house is cheaper.

I don't think that's the legal reasoning for the law, but I do think that it is the end result of it.

No, that is the legal reasoning. Anything which could change the value of a property has to be disclosed.
