Re: Most impressive character development

Utena Tenjou. And pretty much every other character in that show (except Akio).

I really love about how RGU handles character development, because it's so subtle. There are no complete 180 personality turn-arounds or BIG IMPORTANT LIFE-CHANGING EPIPHANIES or anything like that; instead you see the characters start to question their beliefs and preconceptions and gradually become both more self-aware and more generally aware of how messed up everything around them is. There are big important epiphanies, but I think they're depicted a lot more realistically than is usual for fiction (especially fiction where the main cast are kids or teenagers).
