Re: Question

I think that's a little unfair. Rape play is rape play, just like D/s is D/s. Both sides have to be there and willing for it to work. If someone initiates and wants rape play as a victim, they should be equally involved or held to the same standard as the person who agrees to play the rapist.

I have a huge aversion to people who claim innocence from everything because oh, they only play the victim part, ignoring the fact that they are asking someone else to play a rapist, assuming it's consensual play between two real people. They give me the same bad taste as the people who claim to be submissive but really only don't want to be responsible for anything.

I don't know. I guess I'm uncomfortable with the idea of rape play specifically being initiated by the person playing the rapist? Like, I've had some fantasies leaning in that direction, but even if I were playing a dominant role in a relationship I wouldn't initiate specifically that kind of play unless asked for.

And I've also seen men who initiate it not because it si their fantasy (though it probably is) but because they assume it is all women's fantasy or because they see themselves as the one to make the other person's fantasies happen. Which, either way, is kind of creepy to me.

Completely 100% agreed on the second part, anyone assuming anyone has a kink because they're female, or a certain race, or belong to a certain group is skeevy. But it's the assumption that's the skeevy part, not the kink imo.

I wouldn't have a problem if the person brought it up in the context of kink and fiction, which would be a far cry from suddenly initiating it out of the blue, lol.

* This applies to roleplay as well. If someone wants to play the innocent shrinking violet victim to the villain character, they should be held to the same standard as the person who plays the villain. "I only play the victim never the villain so it's different" is such a cop-out when they're gleefully plotting their rape thread OOC.
