Re: Trigger warning - Rape

I think I'd want further clarification on why my partner felt that way, and I'd try to obtain it via calm, civil discussion, but it'd be hard. Until it got resolved, I would absolutely not have any sexual contact with this person for both my good and theirs, because if they're in any way confused about whether or not they consented, then I want no part of that.

But honestly... unless there was a DAMN good explanation for dropping this kind of bomb on what I had in good faith considered consensual sex, it probably spells the end of that longterm relationship. I don't want to be with anyone who has doubts like that about me and our sex life.

Yeaaaa, this is how I feel about it. Not saying I think OP should leave their gf, but if she doesn't talk about what's going on or they don't explore the reasoning behind her feelings I don't see how they could ever be at ease with each other again, at least sexually. (If sex isn't important to either party that might be a bit easier to put behind you, but that doesn't sound like the case. At any rate knowing your partner felt that way would be impossible to forget. I can't imagine how terrible that would feel.)

It sounds like OP doesn't want to go to counseling, but that's probably the best thing to do in this situation. Something is wrong and I doubt it will fix itself.
