Most of mine are from Banana Republic, but I am a lady and have had not one but two close acquaintances who are former BR sales associates. Lots of pretty blouses, and basics like pencil skirts and trousers and blazers.

I have a feeling that won't work out for me, though I just might look pretty killer in a pencil skirt. I doubt my coworkers would see the humour though.

Well they do have standard menswear too. Take heart in knowing that whatever you wind up wearing, your appearance won't be judged nearly as harshly as the average woman's.

Seconding Banana! They also have interesting/colorful options that still feel professional.

I also got my favorite basic black suit dress from Ann Taylor. Their suiting collection is not ground-breaking, but if you need to build up your basics I recommend it.
