OK, I was rereading and realized that two comments ago I said I care about the real people fictional people represent and then in the next comment I said I didn't, and that's pretty contradictory and confusing.

I guess what I mean is that the real-world takeaways aren't WHY I watch a show at all. But that I *can* see them in what's happening onscreen keeps me from losing my shit because men wrote that when they could have written it another way. Because anybody who writs anything could have done it another way, and what matters is "does this way seem real? Is there something IRL that makes me say "yeah, that could happen."

If yes, I've got no moral beef with the writers.
