How about calligraphy. It is a good marketable job skill, plus you can make some pretty pictures for your folks too.

As well as there being a shortage of trained calligraphers for various artistic design industries, merely possessing the skill suggests neatness, precision and mastery of fine control, and determination; which are all transferable aspects.

Marketable job skill, really? It sounds fun nonetheless. I remember doing it once in gradeschool when we had a medieval history unit.

True. My dad did it to make a couple extra bucks from time to time when he was younger. His normal handwriting is extra weird anyway, kinda like Tolkien script. And this is a guy who regularly writes things with a fountain pen.
