In truth, I would hate if she were on the show. But only because I hate that kind of, IMO, lazy as fuck casting. I hated that Amanda Abbington was cast to play John's wife, and I hated that Benedict's parents were cast to play Sherlock's parents, and I hated that Moffat's son was cast to play young Sherlock. Ugh at all of it.

For me it just breaks the fourth wall in the worst way, and it signals that the creators are probably too lazy and self-congratulatory to accurately weigh and judge the narrative decisions they're making.

For the record, there was a tiny little corner in the back of my mind where I liked to imagine BC and Martin Freeman had ~feelings~ for each other. But holy shit, the Sophie Hunter tinhats are such an awful kind of crazy. (Though, for the record, the vast majority of the Sherlock fandom things the Sophie haters are awful and crazy.)

Frankly, I already knew this was true by the way the show is written with little regard for plot or for making decent use out of canon characters, but I agree with your point.

Lol, fair enough.
