Yeah...that's what I hate about the "everyone is beautiful" movement -- it can't help but imply that our value and deserving to be loved are tied to being beautiful

I don't follow these movements, but is there any chance it's more of a 'everyone is a beautiful person no matter what society thinks you look like/what's inside is what counts' type thing?

That's exactly it. I hate that women are judged mostly by their looks, but these movements are specifically trying to counteract judgments on looks. They aren't saying you are only your looks, they are saying everyone is beautiful because there is no objective standard and who you are is just great. And that is a pretty powerful message. They don't always go about it exactly the right way, and sometimes they do focus too much on looks, but these movements are something that we need.
