Technological advances have made people less creative, especially in regard to digital art coloring and video game designs. Going for photorealistc or a just copying traditional tools is lame.

Give me sprites games over realistic nitty-gritty third-person shooter any day.

I am tired of graphics always seeming to come down to looking as realistic as possible. I want to see some original style.

I'm like that with art in general too. I have a ton of respect for the skill it takes to create photorealistic art, but it's more abstract or stylized stuff that really catches my attention.

I'm with you on that. Honestly, if I wanted realism I'd watch something with actual people in it. That goes for art too, I'll just look at photographs.

You know, I want to say the same thing about TV and movie resolution. The whole reaching for better quality images has hit a point where I now have a mild aversion because it's becoming too clear and doesn't feel fictional enough anymore. More like really expensive videos of LARP.
