I don't think we can actually prevent/avoid climate change at this point. Not full in any case, maybe minor damage control. And a lot of the "small measures" we're taking on the nuclear family sort of level are mostly just to make us feel better, imho.

But frankly what we really should be doing is making contingency plans for when shit goes to hell - I mean even if we do manage to avoid it, it's a large enough likelihood to warrant at least the consideration.

And b that I mean very practical stuff like: where will we evacuate/relocate people too if sea level rises and some area's flood? What will we do for food production if climate could affect it? etc etc.

On a related note, I have strong doubt anyone win get any serious contingency plans into place before everything goes to hell. Climate change deniers and skeptics will just drag their feet and slow down any attempt.

It has gone to hell. Two thousand people in India died in the summer heat wave. One thousand died in Pakistan. (And Mike Huckabee calls this "a sunburn," because of freaking course he does.)
