2. Shoes and smart phones can be had for less than the price of groceries or a doctor's visit these days. In fact, you can get the smart phone for "free" in many cases with a contract for services that people need if they're job hunting.

In fact, you can get the smart phone for "free" in many cases with a contract for services that people need if they're job hunting.

That's another good point. Considering how much job hunting is done online nowadays, and considering that so many places simply put their applications online nowadays, a technological device can be seen as a necessity as a result.
