It doesn't make me cringe, but I have no interest in it; if the character I'm into is alien, then I want them to stay alien. That's one of the things I like about them! (Plus...I find them more attractive that way. Don't get me wrong, if we're talking something like Mass Effect then I have a huge thing for Kaidan, but I also have a thing for Thane and want him to stay Drell; turning him into a human takes away some of that appeal.)

Plus I find most of the art to be kind of unimaginative and boring. There's probably some great, well-thought out stuff out there, but I haven't ran into it and I don't care enough to look for it.

I have to admit, taking a non-human I find attractive and humanizing them removes a significant chunk of their sex appeal for me.

Yea, if part of what you like about them is their canon appearance why should it change?

I guess it's all in good fun but I've never seen a non-human character made human in fanart and thought, "Well, this is an improvement."
