But in Scandinavian mythos Dark Elves (Svart Alfar, as opposed to Lios Alfar) are generally hostile to humans (when they bother us at all). So I can see this being applied to Elves generally, more or less (and so I will toss in the Elves from Hellboy II); but the Svart Alfar have always been viewed in a cautious light.

Hey, showing my age, but what about Cujo? Big cuddly Saint Bernard... :D Or I suppose the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man, lol...
