Re: Slash fans of FS

I'm late to the conversation, but -- this is exactly how I am, too. It's the dynamic between two characters that intrigues me, and if those two are men, then I'll read the slash fic that features them (and love it). But I don't ship two male characters just because they exist in the same universe, just as I don't ship two male/female or two female characters just because they're there, either. The relationship dynamic is everything to me.

Oh, I'm glad I came back and saw this! I always like it when people reply to one of my comments and share a similar viewpoint or experience.

Yeah, exactly. I actually thought it was really weird when I first started hanging out at FS, how people here will ask for fics recs without caring what fandom and pairing the recs are for. That's just so far outside of what fanfic is about for me, and until then I didn't really even know there were people who had this completely different way of enjoying fanfic.

I'm used to it now and I get that it's just another way of doing fandom, but yeah, at first it seemed really strange to me.
