You've basically summed up everything that irks me about RoyEd. I mean, I have nothing against yaoi in any form, but this ship just so...stupid! They are always fighting, Ed can't shut up about how much he hates Roy, and Roy treats Ed mainly as a tool rather than a person. I just can't see the chemistry. I like my ships to be at least SLIGHTLY plausible, but this makes no sense to me. Like I said, there wouldn't be a problem if it hadn't taken over everything in the fandom.

I wish the FMA fandom had more diversity; from what I've seen it's mainly Ed either screwing Roy or screwing his brother. At least Ed/Al makes some sort of sense, but I'm not into incest, so bleh.

Word. And it's not cute/hot love him/hate him fun sexual tension -- it's grumpy annoyed tension. (And, frankly, I get a little shudder of disgust when I think of Ed and sexual anything, what with the underage thing going and how irritating I find his personality.)

I admit I have a small weakness for Roy/Hughes (pre-Gracia) but I'm also perfectly happy with the little morsels of Roy/Riza the manga throws out every once in a while. However, all of the fic I've read for either pairing is seriously weak. Where are all the good writers in this fandom? T_T

Coming in very late, but you could try fma_ot4 for any match up of Roy/Maes/Riza/Gracia. As one of the mods, we're always happy for new readers/blood in our group. And we've got some good writers, too...at least, I like to think so.

Yeah, it does seem that the two main ships are Roy/Ed or Elricest. But there are a couple of great authors and fan artists for Hughes/Roy and Roy/Havoc over at the comn, and there's a bit of Hei/Ed scattered around. But it would be nice to see ships that y'know don't have either Roy OR Ed in them.

At least it's no-where near as bad as the Yuugiou fandom just yet.
