Re: Therapy question

It's possible that given enough time, you won't have to go in for every single refill. But if you seem flaky (as in missing your appointment), they're going to want to keep closer tabs on you. If you haven't already apologized, I'd apologize to your psychiatrist and reassure him it won't happen again. Then I'd try much harder to keep track of my appointments and demonstrate that I'm responsible enough NOT to require frequent check ups.

But to put it nicely, this is your mental health at stake here. Blowing off your doctors and trying to take shortcuts in your treatment won't really help you.

+1

OP is sounding a bit like a brat, tbh--missing an appointment, then being astonished that the person being blown off should be pissed.

Yeah no, a doctor is a professional and should act so, not be all pissy and rude because of a missed appointment.

NAYRT

"pissy and rude" =/= OP's statement "So I believe he's a bit pissed at me."

However, other anon calling OP a "brat" is over the top, too.

Except that OP didn't say the doctor was rude: they said they thought he was pissed off at them, which is something that can be conveyed without being rude. I'm guessing the doctor's manner was chilly and that he admonished OP in a way that made OP feel juvenile and incompetent--which is kind of how OP is coming off in this post. But just because an interaction makes you feel bad doesn't mean the other person was rude.
