I don't know if it counts as a fanfic trope, since a lot of shows and movies use it, too, but I've had the thing happen where I'd be going through some sort of rough moment, and I'd somehow just happen to keep stumbling upon TV shows/songs/movies that seemed to be dealing with the exact same tough situation I was going through.

A former friend of mine decided to start hassling me on the street and someone's car stereo was playing "This Will Be The Last Time" by the Rolling Stones the entire time.
