Text: Even though I know most prompts don't get filled/it's my own fault for liking obscure characters and bizarre crossovers, I sometimes can't help but feel a little bitter that only 3.75 (out of over a dozen) of my kinkmeme prompts have ever been filled.

I do enjoy filling prompts too, so I still get satisfaction from kinkmemes. This was just something I wanted to get off my chest.

My best thought out prompts never get filled. The funny, swift ones I haven't really given much thought do. I've learned to live with it. And fill whatever prompts grabbing my attention myself.

I keep wanting to fill my own old "deep" ones, but I'm afraid I won't do my original ideas justice. I'm not a great writer, I'm just an average id-pleaser.

I think there's actually something to this.

The thing is, as silly as it sounds, I'm actually kind of proud of some of my prompts, and that's because I tend to have a very clear idea of the story I have in mind. I can describe it's progression, the narrative turning points, mood, concept, the whole deal. The trouble is, nobody wants to fill prompts like mine because I don't leave enough room for someone to come along and make the idea their own.

My prompts usually get a number of positive comments and +1s and all that, but they never get filled, and I think it's because I'm too much of a writer to write prompts. I don't have little blips of ideas I want someone to come write a fic around; I have entire, very specific fics I want someone to bring into existence for me. I can't say I'm surprised nobody wants to do that for me.

Pff, OP, I think I've only ever had... one prompt of mine on a kinkmeme filled that was good. One other got filled, but it was a pretty lousy job. I kind of stopped prompting after a while because clearly my id is a special snowflake unlike all the others.

I feel you OTP. None of my Hobbit Kink meme prompts ever get filled (mostly beause only movie-based prompts seem to get filled, and mostly only AUs and reincarnation fics at that). I really wish there was a general Tolkien kink meme that was active.

Hah, same. In the one prompt community I'm in I think I've gotten five fills over the course of a couple years, and that's out of more requests than I can actually count at the moment.

Yeah, I consider 4ish out of 12ish a pretty spectacular fill rate, personally. I'm in a pretty major fandom and I ship the main pairing, and none of my five prompts have gotten fills; I don't consider that unusual.

Oh no....unfortunately, I know next to nothing on Marvel or Marvel characters, so I feel like I could not do any kind of justice to either of your prompts. I'm so sorry.

Ironically, I picked those two prompts because I figured Marvel fandom was popular enough that they'd be easier to write.
