Basic-tier hair care

(Anonymous) 2015-11-19 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
I mean I wash my hair regularly and brush it, but it's thin, straight, and past shoulder length gets messy easily. I know how to put it up in a ponytail, but that's about it.

What's my best course of action (including a haircut or hairstyles if need)to hate it less?

Talk to whoever cuts your hair - they'll have the best recommendation.

SA, also, get your hair cut regularly (every 8 weeks is the longest you should go). I know it sounds like a scam, but it really does make your hair a lot more healthy and manageable.

I don't have a regular hairdresser and haven't found someone in town that I feel comfortable with so that's why I'm asking here.

Try Google searching for "hairstyling straight, thin hair" or "hair care tips for fine, straight hair". I would have to actually see your hair to be sure, but I'm guessing it's also fine in texture and tends to get oily easily? What you want are shampoos and conditioners that are lightweight (not full of a lot of oils or waxes that will weigh your hair down and that you don't need if you have oily hair at all), and styling products that say "volumizing" or "body-building".
