(Anonymous) 2015-11-21 12:50 am (UTC)(link)TBH I don't mind the autistic heacanons so much as the 'every single character is trans!' headcanons. Or the 'every character is asexual so don't ship theml!' mentality that is spreading throughout all my fandoms.

You're joking, right? That's not a serious thing that is happening, right? Please tell me you're joking.

But seriously, how hard is it to not read fics shipping the supposedly asexual character? Or to click the back button if you stumble across one by accident?

(Anonymous) 2015-11-21 02:52 am (UTC)(link)I honestly don't know. I ask those questions about anything people find personally objectionable in a fic they stumble across, really. I didn't realize so many people were apparently being tied down to their chairs and forced to read stuff they couldn't stand!
I LOL'd at your "the good ol' days" sentiment, too. Yeah. Just when you think the internet can't get any weirder/stupider/more ridiculous, someone comes along to prove you wrong, don't they :p?

I think a lot of these people would be happier if they went outside for a while and stopped thinking about the sex lives of fictional characters. I mean, I love fandom, but there comes a point where stepping away from the computer is a necessity.
