Would you date someone with a disfigured face?

Assume everything else about them is exactly your type.

You mean my angel of the night? No, that didn't work out last time.

I wouldn't date one, sorry that is shallow of me. I would stand by a guy if he became facially impaired while we were dating though, there has to be support groups for partners who have to deal with that and I could look them up.

It depends.

Assuming their face wasn't so disfigured that I got uncomfortable looking at it, probably.

Sure. Having mild face blindness, the disfiguring could actually help me notice them in the first place and get to know them and decide whether their personnality is my type or not, while common people might just not register as well.

Sure, why not? I don't actually tend to notice faces that much anyway. I don't think I'd date a bald guy, but a disfigured face wouldn't bother me.

I probably would if they really were my type and had a good sense of humour and laughed if I said that at least I'd be able to recognise them in a crowd since I'm really face blind.

How disfigured are we talking? A vertical "hollywood" scar, glasgow grin, or survived a bear attack disfigured? Warning, do not google that last one at all.

Up to a point, at least. I know one man who has had some extensive facial surgery (skin cancer), and heavy scarring like that wouldn't bother me at all. A missing nose or a missing jaw might be different, but I really couldn't say without seeing them in person.

Re: Would you date someone with a disfigured face?

(Anonymous) 2015-11-21 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Depends on the disfigurement, but then, whether I'd date a non-disfigured person depends partly on what their face looks like, too. I dunno, I don't think it would be a deciding factor very often either way.

When I was a teen I had a huge crush on a girl in my class with very extensive facial nevus flammeus, to the point where some people might consider it disfiguring. I just thought it gave her character.

Short answer: absolutely. Especially scars.

Re: Would you date someone with a disfigured face?

It would entirely depend on what the disfigurement was. Extensive scarring would be fine. Missing their teeth or having a glass eye would be fine. Having extra holes in their face, or missing their nose or jaw or something, like a mauling victim? I couldn't handle that.

No.

If they're generally everything I like about a human being (which includes being an actual good human being and not a murderous psycho) it wouldn't bother me a bit. I mean, I've got my own disfigurements that I'd hate someone to leave me over.

Yup. I don't really like looking at faces anyway.

Re: Would you date someone with a disfigured face?

(Anonymous) 2015-11-22 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. If everything else about them is my type, definitely. While I have been guilty of liking the pretty boys for the pretty, that really doesn't last long if that's the only thing I like about them.

Everything else? You know it! Because that would make that scar one I think is incredibly sexy: the scarred upper lip. To me it works like a beauty spot x 100: wear that and be charming, and my panties will just glide down past my knees. A bib to soak up the drool might also come in handy. I'm sexy that way.

Definitely.

I know what it's like to have such an issue (I was a kid, and skin and asphalt do not work well together. Whole right side of my face looked like hamburger. I earned the name "Freddy Kreuger" even though I'm a girl). I was extremely lucky in that now you can't tell. Just the scar tissue pulls in cold weather (and I slather it with cream when that happens).

So, yup. Including the "half your face is gone" type. There's always a workaround for kisses/etc.

Disfigured how? If they're missing an eye, then yes, because there are ways of dealing with that; they can wear an eyepatch or obtain a glass eye, etc.

If there's some scarring or discoloration that doesn't cover the entire face, then yes.

If they were missing lips, nose, or teeth, I really don't think I could deal with that. I also don't think I could deal with burns that covered the majority of the face, or something like a birthmark or port-wine stain that covered the majority of the face.

If they're missing an ear? IDK, I guess that's not a big deal.
