I should be lucky enough to have your kind of bad taste. I have the devil's own time trying to find movies to watch because I'm too picky about it. Being able to just lie back and know I'm going to love the movie sounds awesome to me. Enjoy what you enjoy and don't let anyone try to guilt trip your enjoyment away.

Saphira was probably the only good thing in that movie. Especially how she looked and moved.

I understand this. I'm really finnicky about what I watch and rarely like tv shows or movies, but certain things I will ALWAYS see. If it's a western, zombie, or magic fantasy film, hell yeah. Those are the only movies where I can shut off the whiny voice in my head that always complains about the smallest of flaws. Besides, we all have our guilty pleasures, no shame.

I can totally understand this. I still want to take up sword-fighting someday.

This is basically me, a little bit less so with the sword fights but if a movie has dragons in it I will watch it(and then maybe mourn the time wasted after).

I love both those things but probably haven't seen many of the films you have. What are some of your favorites?

(Anonymous) 2015-11-22 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
No shame, OP. I'll watch anything that has robots in it, no matter how terrible. We like what we like. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And movie!Saphira is beautiful. She's one of the best characters in the books too.

Good sword fights are my weakness so I feel you, OP!

I also own all of the Highlander movies. And I loved the television show. At one point in college I was really into it and debated getting my own katana. Swords are cool.

Hello nonnie. You're either one of my old housemates, or I can swear to you that you are not alone.

(I will also watch anything with swords and dragons in, but that's because I will watch anything with swords in.)

I'm like this but with winged characters. I'm willing to watch a lot of tripe to get to the wings part.
I'm still pretty certain that most of the reason I enjoyed Maleficent was because it started out with PRETTY WINGS and that tided me through most of the movie.

I'm kind of with you, OP. I will watch anything with dragons. I did see Eragon twice. The only good thing about that movie, though, is Saphira, and I never wasted my money on the dvd. I do own some of the crappy Syfy dragon-themed movies, though (one of them is actually kind of good, most are not).

(Anonymous) 2015-11-23 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
If you liked Saphira, she ends up having a short dragon romance(?) with Arya's dragon in the final book.

I read the books. They were pretty meh, but I did enjoy them for the dragons. The last book was the best, I think.

Awwww, nonny! I, too, adore any all fantasy films, the worse the better. Eragon is quite enjoyable in that regard, as is the Dungeons and Dragons movies. Do not be ashamed; people put hard work into 'em, I'm sure they're happy somebody's enjoying it.

[personal profile] solticisekf 2015-11-23 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't know that there's more than one Dungeons and Dragons movie. Adding them to my watchlist.

[personal profile] solticisekf 2015-11-23 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
Highlander movies are classics or do you mean movies for the Highlander TV series because even I don't have those.

By that criteria Game of Thrones is right up OP's alley.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-23 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
I admit I read all the Eragon books. I was actually surprised he didn't have Gary Stu end up with Mary Sue at the end. I'll read his upcoming stuff, since he said it'll have Murtagh/Thorn in it.

I totally get you, anon- I don't really care about sword fights, but I'll watch anything with a dragon in it, seriously. Doesn't matter how bad it is. I'll probably love it. I also own the Eragon movie (and all of the books). It obviously wasn't the best movie, but I genuinely enjoyed it at the time. Maybe it was entirely because Saphira was AMAZING and absolutely everything I'd pictured, but it's been a long time since I've seen it, so I'm not sure.

No shame necessary here. It looks like you're in good company.

I was just watching highlander the series the other day and told my husband we should see if we can take fencing lessons somewhere.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-23 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
I will forgive a lot of things if the setting appeals to my interests.

Ah, but do you have DVDs of the Highlander tv series, that's the question.

And if you like dragons, you should try Naomi Novik's Temeraire series.
