OP

my kid brother liked them when we were growing up, so only by the fact of having siblings I saw the third one. Similar premise, but at least this one is just "kid is sick and has to stay home from school" not "PARENTS FORGOT AN ENTIRE CHILD AT HOME FOR AN INTERNATIONAL VACATION"

Like really for real. Maybe because I came of age in the last 15 years where now I can't even watch ~romantic~ "I'll stop him/her before they get on the plane!" scenes because that's not a thing that can remotely happen anymore, but AN ENTIRE CHILD FORGOTTEN. (or the second one where he just.... gets on the wrong plane somehow?????)

...you're seriously completely unable to recognize that things change, so just because someone can't do something now doesn't mean it was always unrealistic for them to do it?

You're seriously unable to comprehend hyperbole? It seems to me like OP was being hyperbolic.

There can be some disconnect when entertainment feels like it takes place in a recent time, but there's large differences that make it difficult to relate to. And it can be difficult to resonate. Chillax.

Guess we better never watch anything made before we came of age then. It would just be impossible to relate to.
