Like others said, that's up to you to decide what you're comfortable with. There's no objective standard you can look to.

Personally what makes me feel more or less comfortable about these things is the general reaction toward the person. I actually feel more comfortable consuming works by people that everyone agrees were awful. But I'm not comfortable with someone like Polanski and his films because it feels like an ongoing conversation where I would be throwing in my support. For me that wouldn't change if he died and people were still defending him.

I'm not saying that's the right way to feel about these things, that's just how it works for me.
