You're not wrong, but the difference is cultural. Lovecraft's cultural significance is to white teenage boys and emos. Mohammed's significance is deep and means an awful lot to a large number of brown people. Shitting on the culture of lots of brown people has an unpleasent taste to most modern westerners.

Muslims justify child brides because of Mohammed. It goes beyond hurting the brown people's feelings. Let's call a spade a spade.

Also Lovecraft is one of the most influential genre writers of all time, it goes beyond white emos.

There are Christians who justify child brides with the Bible.
