This fandom is already pissing me off. I took one look at the tags on Tumblr and decided to stay far away. They are already justifying Kilgrave because Tennant is hot.

And on AO3, the first Jones/Kilgrave fic was a consensual one that claimed she loved him. What the fucking hell? That's wrong on so many levels? I want this ship, but I want creepy noncon. In no universe would it ever be consensual. He's a horrible, horrible person, which is what makes him interesting.

When fans justify Loki's actions, it is bad enough, but this is so much worse because there is not a single redeeming quality to this character. If you want to find him hot, I have no problem with that, but fuck off with the justifying his horrible actions.

I've seen a ton of complaining about justification of the character in the tags, but I haven't seen any posts other than that one that made me stop and go, "What?!"

Well, that and one user posting a lot of Kilgrave gifs while talking about how sexy he is and while I understand that Tennant is an attractive man, they added a quote about how he could make you feel sympathy for him. The gifset was the one where he talks about how much he wants to see the look on Jessica's face when he controls her again, and how much he wants to make her want him, so he can refuse her over and over again until she's desperate and depressed. I have never scrolled faster.

Nothing about Kilgrave is okay. I mean, I get finding him...god, I find him so repulsive I don't even want to say interesting, but I get that he's an excellent villain and people can be drawn to that, but seeing people act like there could be anything redeemable about him... I don't like it.

Consensual sex between those two wouldn't happen in a thousand years. That's...yea.

What? If someone is completely serious in thinking it's okay for someone to be despicable as long as they're hot, then yeah, I think it makes sense to worry about them. They are likely to excuse someone who's hot doing despicable things to them.
