Danny is trans!

(Anonymous) 2015-11-23 09:44 am (UTC)(link)

(Yes, clickbait headline.) Lol okay so I'm a trans guy and literally the first thing I think of whenever I see Danny is tumblr's weird obsession with proving he's a trans boy. I've seen actual fights break out over this on there. It would have actually have been interesting and I've seen some cool theories that are halfway plausible but the sheer amount of forehead-vein-popping ULTRA REACHING you need to do is ridiculous because of the a)creators of said show and b)the time it was produced and the network it was produced for.

I really enjoyed the show when it was on actually, although Danny/Sam always rubbed me the wrong way big time. (I enjoyed his dynamic with Valerie so much more holy shit.) But people who read into this show like it's a Nabokov novel or some crap really make me scratch my head. I think part of it is the fact that Nickelodeon had a real dearth of good "serious" cartoons at the time, and because going from a show like Fairly Oddparents to Danny Phantom is like an alternate universe, but goddamn people it's not that deep.
