Oh stop it. You know as well as everyone else that this isn't saying that.

But yeah, full stop, I'll say it:

I am going to judge you if you use abortions as birth control.

Sorry not sorry. It's a painful medical procedure, it's expensive, there are always risks, and if you can't take a fuckin' pill or slap on a goddamn condom (or just get a goddamn tube tying operation) and you use abortion as your defacto morning after pill?

I AM JUDGING YOU SO HARD.

It doesn't mean I want to take the fundamental right to have an abortion away from you, but I can think you as a specific person are abusing the system without being ~pro-life~.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
How about when someone is using protection and it fails? Would you still be JUDGING [THEM] SO HARD? When would you not judge a woman SO HARD for having an abortion? Honestly curious question.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Are you being this stupid on purpose or does it come naturally? Of COURSE an abortion in case of failed protection is fine. That's not what we're talking about. Stop being so dense, you're about to turn into an intellectual black hole.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
You're aware that many people who say they're pro-choice only think it's okay if the woman can present proof that the pregnancy is the result of rape, right? You said that in some cases an abortion is an acceptable choice, so I wanted to find out if you were one of those people.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not, but what do you care? You'll extrapolate whatever the fuck you want out of what I say.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
AYRT

Since you said it's an honestly curious question:

Absolutely fucking not. I'm not going to judge a woman who used protection and it fails. I'm also not going to judge a stupid mistake or two. But I draw the line at willful, repeated offenses. Again, I'm not going to lobby to take the right for birth control away from a woman like that, but I'm still going to judge them. Any woman who casually mentions that this is her 9th abortion in 4 years is going to get a HUGE side-eye from me. (And again, even that could have exceptions, I will never judge a woman in an abusive relationship who feels that these are her only way out, etc. I am talking very specifically about women who are in control of themselves and their partners and have access to birth control but repeatedly do not use it.) I can still think someone is making a horrible choice as a human being without wanting to punish every single woman for that individual abusing the system and their own bodies because they can't be assed to take it upon themselves to use birth control, or have their partners use birth control.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you for your reply. I completely agree with you here.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
Just out of curiosity, but have you always been an asshole? Because the issues of how many or few abortions a person has, as well as why they have them, are none of your goddamn business in the first fucking place.

I hope you never once have to experience the down-the-nose judgemental looks from pieces of shit such as your own self. I do hope you get hit by a bus tho, fuckwipe.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
Ooooooohhhhhhh you're gonna cut yourself on that edge anon.

Lol what the actual fuck? They have a better stance on birth control than a bunch of you whackadoos in this thread who act like women are somehow above judgment completely for making bad life choices and if you don't get wet to the thought of abortions and LOVE THEM that you're a bad feminist and a bad human being. Ohhh they're such a horrible person boohoo they might silently think someone could have made better choices I HOPE THEY GET RUN OVER WITH A TRUCK.

I hope you get run over by a rolling abortion clinic van. It would be the perfect irony for wastes like you who get so fucking offended at literally everything that isn't GRRRL POWER 4EVA WOMEN R ALWAYS RIGHT HDU QUESTION A WOMAN ON ANYTHING EVER ABLOOBLOOOBLOOOOO. If anything, I commend OP for still standing up for these women's RIGHT to abort even if they personally feel they've taken some wrong-turns along the way. There's a difference between thinking something is okay, and wanting to take that human right away from them. I don't like radfems, I think they're a waste of human skin and they've single-handedly fucked feminism's image into the ground, but there's a difference between me judging the fuck out of them and saying that I think they should have their right to free speech taken away because I don't disagree with their opinions.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Literally nobody does that.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
I can't be everywhere at once. You didn't have to post three times pretending to be three different people just because I took a while to respond. You're not even mad for anything I've done, you're mad for something you THINK I'm saying.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
I remember someone here said that doing so is common in Japan, because carrying birth control is more of a taboo (it gives the impression that you're expecting to have sex at any given moment, in other words that you're slutty) than having an abortion.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think anybody is faulting women like that. That is a valid cultural (fucked up as it may be) reason that contributes to this. However in the West birth control is basically ubiquitous.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
I really doubt this. I've read a little about contraceptives and abortion laws in Japan, and having an abortion just for the heck of it is pretty much illegal. Approved doctors may perform an abortion if the pregnancy is the result of rape or if the woman's health is at severe risk because of physical issues or a bad economic situation.

The day after pill is pretty common, though, but do we really count that as an abortion?

It's a painful medical procedure, it's expensive

If it's expensive and painful (and in many people's cases, they have to travel hundreds of miles to get it) then why are you judging them "so hard"? Don't you think they'd have a pretty good reason why they were having to get an abortion? Like you said, a pill or the condom is much more convenient.

I don't think I would judge anyone, but I would wonder why a woman is getting frequent abortions instead of using easier methods of control.

Abusive boyfriend with an impregnation fetish?

That is a valid reason, yes.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
DA That's actually one of the more common reasons people come in. Contraceptive sabotage happens frequently with abusers.

I think the idea of the woman who has abortions ridiculously frequently "as birth-control" (can I mention just how ridiculous that phrase can be? Of course abortion is birth-control!) has become such an urban legend that it is what people think of first. Hence why my stance on curiously frequent abortions is "Why?", because abusive situations are far more likely.
