Lots of people are uncomfortable with seeing invasive surgeries on TV, and depending on your perspective abortion can seem very invasive. Plus, we've been flooded with so much false information (propaganda, really) about how inherently awful and traumatic abortion is, that for some people it almost becomes a self-fulfilling reality. Plus, if you're someone who really loves being pregnant, or really wants to get pregnant, then it makes sense that your own personal feelings of not wanting an abortion might color how you respond to the sight of a character you like/identify with getting an abortion.
As long as you still support women's rights to choose, and as long as you don't act squeamish or judgmental around women if they happen to mention that they've had an abortion, then it's all fine.
