Yeah, I thought the same thing, especially in AoU. He's supposed to be this Super Special Character Who's Not Mindfucked This Time, and all I got out of him was... Meh. He had a secret family. Meh. He's good at arrows. Meh.

Just... meh.

I gave him some slack after Avengers because he wasn't in it much; I didn't feel I could judge his character too harshly given I felt like I knew next to nothing about him.

But after AoU...I don't have a lot of feelings one way or the other and I'm doubting that's going to change. If anything, he's just a disappointment.

Agreed. I think there's a lot of wasted potential there. I mostly feel like if you dropped Hawkeye from the team it wouldn't really have much of an impact... he had potential in the first movie, which was soundly dropped in AoU.

Look at it this way, he probably won't be getting much screentime in Civil War, since there are 300 characters appearing in it :D

Hahahahahahaha...*laughter dissolves into tears*

I want to believe that film won't be terrible. So badly I want to believe.

God knows.

spoileres for Civil War trailer

[personal profile] ketita 2015-11-25 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
Did you see the Civil War trailer??
I... I'm sort of excited, even though I have this horrible sinking feeling I'm going to be disappointed.
I mean awesome is the Steve going all out for Bucky. I approve. And Falcon is pretty awesome too. And Steve and Bucky fighting together!

However, I have no idea where the 'vigilante' thing came from, really. It doesn't really mesh with what was going on in Ultron, so that mess seems to be a little too quick for me, personally.

I saw it this morning after I checked my email and saw your subject line! Just getting around to commenting, though.

I'm not even sort of excited, I'm full on pumped. lol. Not sure how wise that is given the massive disappointment that was AOU, but I'm going to hope for the best! If the film keeps the cameos small and unobtrusive and the focus is on Steve and Bucky against the world (well, most of the world; still amazing!) I feel like I'll be extremely pleased. The only way to know they won't screw it up for sure is to see it, and that's a ways off.

As for the 'vigilante' thing, I think that's referring to something we haven't seen yet, right? Or at least that's what I suspected. My guess is in Steve's search for Bucky he did quite a few things that weren't sanctioned.
