Sengoku Basara is an absolutely, utterly, OTT retelling of the battles of the Sengoku period which led to unification under Tokugawa.
Understand, in the movie (which is even more amazing), they resurrect Oda Nobunaga during the battle of Sekigahara in a huge nabe pot.

It's impossible to be more OTT than Sengoku Basara. They have Date Masamune riding a horse tricked out like a motorcycle and speaking enthusiastic Engrish.
I mean look at this

Like, there are some very serious moments too, and Masamune and Kojuurou's relationship is pretty amazing. There's a reason this series is considered utter fujoshi bait...

lmao, Jesus Christ. This anime sounds all kinds of crazy. Almost like Bakumatsu Rock level crazy. (Which I'm now realizing I never finished...)

I am bookmarking this thread in the hopes to one day come back to it because it sounds delightful and entertaining!
