If Jeremy Renner were a Brit or Australian and he hadn't previously demonstrated that he's kind of a misogynist, I'd be more willing to give him a pass for that. But for now, all I give him is the side eye.

The word has different connotations in the UK and Australia, genius. Kind of like how "spastic" isn't considered a slur in America but definitely is one (and a pretty bad one, at that) in the UK.
