Shut up, troll!anon. No one is impressed by you targeting those sharing vulnerabilities.

OP, they probably make those comments out of mild concern. You don't need to justify to them why you're in you're room a lot - whether they are the cause or not.

However you're not going to stop feeling uncomfortable around them by hiding in your room, if you're up for it try hanging in your communal area for an hour or two once a week - take your laptop or phone or a book, or eat your dinner. Try to contribute to at least one sentence or a joke. Keep it casual and light.

Keep in mind the set up is only temporary, so you can wait it out if you need be :)
