This secret and the above Supergirl secret are giving me conflicting feelings on whether to give Supergirl a chance or not

TBH I'm not thrilled about the whole Winn's-unrequited-affection plotline, especially since it just rehashes any number of men-in-the-friendzone plotlines you can find on rom-coms since the 1970s.

And then to put Kara into a love triangle with Jimmy and Lana is just the WTF icing on top of the WTF cake.

A love triangle between Jimmy Olsen and Lana Lang? Ugh, sounds cringe worthy

Is it like a real big part of the show or not, because if it isn't, then maybe I can just ignore it

Jimmy's girlfriend is actually Lucy Lane, not Lana Lang.

Whoops, I had a brainfart and forgot whose name it was.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-26 06:52 am (UTC)(link)
Until you clarified this, I thought the statement meant Jimmy and another woman were fighting over Supergirl and was kind of impressed that that would happen... alas.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-26 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
Not Lana Lang, Lucy Lane. Lois's kid sister and Jimmy's canonical girlfriend.

I'm with the other secret, this is the best Super-adaption yet.

But I am hoping they aren't using the love triangle-nice guy-friendzoning to explain Winn eventually becoming Toyman.

I actually don't think he will. He mentions his father being in prison, so I think he's actually the son of the Toyman.

Unfortunately, I looked it up on Wikipedia and it confirmed it's Winn's dad, not Winn, who is Toyman. :(

edit: which, obviously, could be wrong, but I'm not getting my hopes up too high.

Wait, not one but TWO girls are interested in that bald-headed, naked mole rat-looking, penis-sticking-out-of-a-shirt?

I can buy superpowers and superheroes, but there are some things where I can't get past the lack of realism.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-26 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
Are... Are you referring to the black guy as a mole rat-looking, penis-sticking-out-of-a-shirt, because if you are... WOW

(Anonymous) 2015-11-26 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
Forget it, Jake, it's ugly!anon.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-26 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
Who are you attracted to?

(Anonymous) 2015-11-26 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
How is that any of your business?

(Anonymous) 2015-11-26 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
It's not, but I'm curious, based on your other comments about who and is not attractive. Of course it's your prerogative not to answer. That's conversation.

More like tall, dark, and handsome. And baldness is a mark of virility in some eyes.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-26 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
I agree that he's hot, but why is baldness a mark of virility in particular?

(Anonymous) 2015-11-26 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
DA Male baldness is related to higher testosterone levels (which is why it often goes with greater amounts of body hair) hence greater virility. Also greater strokes and heart attacks.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-26 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
Is high testosterone really a good thing?

(Anonymous) 2015-11-25 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a really optimistic superhero-procedural show, rammed at full speed into a screwball romantic comedy.

If that sounds appealing to you, watch t.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-26 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't. I watched the promo and it was horrible, and then the media play rubbed me the wrong way: "OMG, this show has a ~100%~ rating on Rotten Tomatoes!" and then you go on sites like IMDB and they're rating it a 6.5/10 at the very most.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-26 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
Watch.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-26 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Watch when you have nothing better to do. If you love it, you can continue on with your Supergirl-loving self. If you hate it...well, you had nothing better to do.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-26 09:38 am (UTC)(link)
Do it! OP is just being whiny. The actual love triangle time is fairly low compared to action and other stuff.

Plus, Kara is really sweet about it. She has a heart to heart with Lucy and is never catty towards her. I hate love triangles, and I don't mind this at all.
