One of the things about growing up is realizing that stuff from your childhood had problematic aspects to them

Just look at the crotch grabbing scene from Crocodile Dundee. I thought that was hilarious as a kid, but when I saw it a few months ago I couldn't stop cringing

I know what you mean re: Crocodile Dundee. And it was funny at the time, everyone in the theater laughed (yes, I saw it 100 years ago in a movie theater). But it was made in a different time, with different attitudes, and things changed.

While we do cringe today when confronted with these things, just consider the positive aspects of how things have changed.
