Well, considering I grew up in a very homophobic family, I never thought I'd slash. Then I read my first Harry/Tom fic and was hooked.

Never though I'd ship incest until Jaime/Cersei.

Never thought I'd ship incest in a romantic way until Maedhros/Fingon.

idk why, but for some reason it cracks me up that harry and voldemort ended up being your first slash pairing. it took me a while to build up to that one

It was just the first slash thing I happened to open, and I enjoyed it enough to want more. I didn't ship it until I read the fic. I do think that is part of the reason why I still enjoy dark, creepy things, though.
