Likable Pervert Characters
(Anonymous) 2015-11-26 01:00 am (UTC)(link)Bonus, pervy and gross, and likable, and NOT a bad guy who the audience doesn't expect to act morally in the first place?

(Anonymous) 2015-11-26 01:02 am (UTC)(link)"pervy old mentor dude" is a whole archetype in shonen anime, you can probably find tons more examples there.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-26 01:54 am (UTC)(link)I never liked him though. As a kid, I wondered why the hell Bulma always hung out with him. Like wtf. He def. made me uncomfortable [growing up as a girl].

(Anonymous) 2015-11-26 01:09 am (UTC)(link)(I think the fact that he never gets slightly mad or defensive when people yell at him or beat him up for perving, and would never actually do anything seriously harmful or exploitative and has been explicitly shown rejecting the option of doing so, is what keeps the "likable" part in place.)

(Anonymous) 2015-11-26 01:57 am (UTC)(link)Will also like add Captain Jack SPARROW, also hot, didn't seem to care who or what, was willing to go for it (as far as Disney would allow, lbr, he was always about it.cthe DVD extras mentioned his little unhealing wound on his jaw had to do with syphilis? Or something of that nature. Also, some of his effects were "prizes" from his conquests, i.e. the Spanish lace) And had a heart of gold ;)

The only man with the courage to be a pervert.
And he hits all those criteria.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-26 01:58 am (UTC)(link)Yes. Definitely Jack Sparrow. Ahem, Captain Jack Sparrow. His pervy ways were not at all a deterrent for my liking him.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-26 07:33 am (UTC)(link)The word *perversion* literally means "something that diverts from its proper path."
In the context of fiction, having a higher-than-average sex drive and being rather obnoxiously open about it doesn't make someone a pervert, IMO. It just makes them sort of comically horny.
