I think it's interesting that people hate Seimei when he's more or less the driving force behind the whole series. :|

And I dislike people who make the :| face at me for no reason other than disliking a character but hey, that's life I guess. :)

I'm not really up to date with the manga, but he's tortured Ritsuka for years (albeit indirectly, it was on purpose and by his plan)! He threw Soubi away when he didn't need him anymore, and he plays with other's emotions. It seems pretty hard to like him, from what I've seen...

My comment was phrased poorly; I mostly meant that it's hard not to at least appreciate him, as the manga wouldn't really have any point at all without him. Since, from the beginning, he's been quite behind everything -- for all the reasons you said.

Ah, yes, there's a difference in hating him as a person and as a character, of course. I'm very interested in him, that's for sure!

While I agree that he is the driving force behind the whole series, I still very much hate him. Looking at it from the story structure, I think he is a good character. And the fact that as a character he can bring up so much anger or love in a reader also shows he is a good character.

To be honest, I was very disappointed with how little he appeared in the anime. I would have enjoyed the anime so much more had Seimei been apart of it, even though he brings up a lot of anger in me. He he he. Does that make sense? Sorry if it doesn't. . .

I hate Misa from DeathNote but I know she is important to the story. I also HATE the main character in Rescue Me but I love that show altogether.

I think my more analytical side was speaking when I made that comment, 'cause. That makes sense.

Though, if I remember correctly, he didn't appear in the anime 'cause the manga hadn't reached the point where he was quite in it when they made it. ~~Not that the plot's doing a whole lot right this second, but.~~

Mm, I see. It seems I was out of line, but I'm a fan of Seimei, so. XD I also just associate it with the fact that the story wouldn't exist if he didn't and wasn't the way he is, and since I very much enjoy Loveless, it sort of goes hand in hand that one needs to at least appreciate Seimei as a character... which isn't what my comment said, so. My bad!

I don't think you were out of line. I understood your point. :3 Maybe just weren't clear enough? Which I have a bad habit of doing here all the time.

And "Appreciate" was the word I was trying to think of originally. I enjoy Loveless greatly and to be honest, Seimei didn't really kick up a lot of anger in me until more recently.

I know I definitely didn't pick up on that the first time I watched Loveless and I swore like fucking mad because I didn't get how that counted as an ending. XD

It would seem so. :3 Ah well. Now I know better for next time, eh?

S'good word. And. I can totally understand why he would because. Hoshit he's a bastard. XD

I KNOW! I kind of just stared at the blank screen after it was all over wondering how it could possibly end that way! I ranted a good while about it after I saw it. XD;;
