IA there has been an overwhelming prevalence of grimdark SciFi (actually, not just SciFi but supernatural, fantasy and urban fantasy as well) and not much yay!humanity or space opera SciFi of late. I'm for more of a balance myself. And more space ships. There just aren't enough space ships lately. Although The Expanse looks promising as a hard SF premise. Belters! Mars versus Earth! Fun.

I'd also kill to have hard Sci-Fi snobs go away too. I'm hoping Star Wars brings the campy space operas back full force

That will be fun. I honestly thought I read something about a new Star Trek series in the making, too. But maybe I was dreaming. Nope, here it is. But not until Jan 2017.
