I can tell you're the same anon from Secret 8 because you misspelled Gale's name the exact same way in both secrets...

Well, in real life it's usually a female name and short for Abigail, so Gail is the more common spelling.

Anyone who actually read the series and compared them to the movies would know SCollins spelled his name as "Gale".

Uh not necessarily. Remembering side character name spellings isn't everyone's priority. Especially if they only read it a couple of times years ago (if that lol. I read them once) and all focus has been on movies since.

Although if they love the books enough to consider it a fandom, they should probably know. But often fans who aren't obsessive won't even remember side characters at all. (Although you should remember Gale as he was pretty important.)

Eh, he was important sure, but he wasn't a main character. More like an important side character.

I agree, but in this case, I'd say there is a 99.9999% chance the same person made both secrets.

But I don't think that's a bad thing. They saw the movie and made a few secrets about it, no biggie.

Gravity Falls has Mabel's name written in the opening credits in large font and yet half the fandom still calls her Mable (multiple times in one post, negating the possibility of typos). Considering I see the name "Gail" much more frequently than "Gale" I'm inclined to believe it's just a common mental glitch rather than specifically one person making multiple secrets.

(Not that there's anything wrong with submitting multiple secrets!)

Hm, for me OP, the movie ending made more sense than the book ending. The book was rushed just enough that when she killed coin (in the book) I didn't properly understand why (or who coin was, kept forgetting her name and therefore character).

But with the movie we got to see the Coin behind the scenes and we got to see Prim dying because of Coin/Gale*'s butterfly bomb being dropped on the masses (and if you happen to have forgotten about the bomb, Snow tells you in the gardens) then the second one going off when people "rush in to help the wounded". And we get to see Katniss realise that Prim is dead due to Coin/Gale AND Coin is going to set up the Hunger Games all over again. Do you really think Katniss would allow a hunger games just because they're capitol children? She tries to protect everyone on all sides. She just wants people to stop dying.

And when I read the book, I completely missed the bit about the butterfly bomb Gale helped with - and that Prim was going to be a medic rushing in to help survivors after battle. So seeing the lead ups of that in the cinema (much harder to accidentally miss for me) - the ending felt much more built up and a whole lot less confusing than the books.

*Gale really shot the romance and the friendship in the foot there, he was too violent and willing to take risks AND indirectly contributed to Prim dying :/
