Do we really need warnings for something like this? Do you go into a panic attack whenever the news comes on?

I don't want to be rude, but if you've lost someone in the attacks, you probably don't want to be reminded of it.

but then we'd also need warnings for cancer, murder, natural disasters, wars etc.

It was literally a couple of weeks ago. And what's hurt by including the warning?

Nothing, some people will always complain about trigger warnings, regardless of context

I guess that at the time the secret was made, yes, some people would go into panic attacks. I know people who would actively avoid turning on the news and going on websites with online news displays to escape the constant reminding that "we're at war and you could be next!!!"
