Not OP, but I think everyone's missing his or her point.

OP ISN'T saying "people walk in the room and talk to me." OP says "when people can tell I'm busy, they decide to distract me until I have to listen to them."

Imagine a five year old kid poking their parent and kicking their feet against the walls until Mommy has to give him what he wants. That's what the OP is talking about.

yes thank you! :) if people walk in and talk to me and ask for my attention and it's something important i have no problem at all giving it to them. it's the passive aggressive attention demanding while i'm obviously busy doing something else and not interested in their tv show or whatever it is that drives me insane
