I'm 27 too and I have urban dictionary on standby. There are some that I forget over and over, not to mention the ones that have separate meanings. You would not believe how long it took me to figure out OTL. After that I just started going to Urban Dictionary on the regular.

I would because I had to google it.

Wow, internet. That seems random as fuck.

Don't you mean random AF?!?

(Why have people started abbreviating "as fuck," holy shit)

Shit, I didn't even catch that, haha. (I've done it once or twice in tumblr tags and I can't even tell you why. I think because I'm seeing it so much in gif-sets that it kind of wants to work its way into my daily life.)

Two words do not need abbreviating though. (BUT, again, I abbreviate 'idk' and THREE words don't exactly need it either, so either way I am guilty of something.)

Yeah, but IDK is a complete statement/sentiment/clause. AF bothers me because it's randomly chopping two words off the end of a sentence.

Hmm, that's a fair point! If you have a complete sentence with just the words 'as fuck' abbreviated at the end it's going to look unnatural (are people using it that way? I haven't noticed), but if it's something like a short tumblr tag ('hot af'), that I don't mind.

Language.

I think it's because of the 'fuck'. Some people like the sentiment, but not actually using the word. But also, and maybe more importantly, AF (just like WTF) will make it through all the filters.

Good point!
