That's a valid concern. Me, I wouldn't bother writing for people who can't even muster up a thank you, because frankly that's fucking rude. But you have to decide for yourself what you want to do.

Agreed. A similar thing happened to me. My mutuals were talking about they were dying to see fic of a rare pairing so I wrote it. Got zero comments. Later one of them asked me to write a thing for them. I said no ofc.

Damn right that you did. When someone writes you a fic and puts some effort into doing it because you wanted a particular rarepair or whatever, you owe them a thank you. If you're not appreciative of the favors people do you, then people should stop doing you favors until you learn some damn manners.

As somebody who's prompted in some places and have had computer problems with very limited internet access, sometimes people can't thank somebody who's filled a prompt right away, or may not be even aware somebody's filled something you wanted because of Computer or RL stuff. Shit happens.

Nah. If you can somehow find the time and internet access to request a fic, you can find it to say thank you to the person who filled your request. If you have reason to think that you won't be able to keep track of your filled prompts or thank people, then you need to hold off on making the request until you have the time.
