A few weeks back we had the hold 'commissioning fanart vs. commissioning fanfic' debate here in fs and an anon said that the reason why commissioning fic was not ok was that anyone could write fic. It seems to be a semi-common opinion in fandom that writing fic is easy (and not worthy of even a thank you apparently lol). ngl I think request fic contributes to that.
